Versicherungskammer Bayern, 2009, metal/wood, 250 x 1600 x 300 cm

Within the framework of an art-in-architecture competition for the Versicherungskammer in Munich, Reto Boller realized this room installation in cooperation with the Kunstgiesserei St.Gallen. The floor and ceiling paneling of the 2.4-meter-high mezzanine floor was cut away in an area measuring 16 x 3 meters, and replaced with a forest of construction supports. These support a platform assembled from yellow wood paneling. This spanned space is illuminated with neon tubes distributed crisscross on the floor. The tubes illuminate the specific chromaticity and the strict arrangement of the building materials. The Kunstgiesserei provided structural clarification, evaluated all the materials, and constructed the installation in Munich along with Reto Boller.
