Yes – No, 2003, gray cast iron, 28 x 41 x 30 cm
A formation of three letters reveals, depending on the perspective, the word “Yes” or “No”. Cast iron copies were produced from the wood originals. Because of the high temperatures required to cast iron, it was first necessary to create a ceramic shell mold. The surface of the casting was burnished with burnt linseed oil in order to achieve a uniform, matte, anthracite-grey finish.
