Born 1960 in London (UK), lives and works in New Dehli, India
Bharti Kher grew up in England and studied painting in Newcastle and at the Middlesex Polytechnics. Since 1993, she has lived and worked in New Delhi. In her works, she addresses the ambivalent identity of India. She alienates existing traditional objects with invisible technical means and thus places them in a new context.
