Born 1857 in Ebnat (CH), died 1911 in Zurich
August Bösch first learned the craft of stone carving before completing his education as a sculptor at the Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Applied Arts), the Munich Kunstakademie (Art Academy) and the École des Arts Décoratifs (School of Decorative Arts). He created important monumental works such as the Broderbrunnen in St.Gallen, which was unveiled at the celebration to mark the inauguration of the drinking water system.
